An appreciation post for Iford Manor’s glorious carpets of wild garlic - I simply couldn’t believe my eyes, isn’t it extraordinary? Imagine how much pesto you could get out of this lot! A fun fact about me is that I can never resist a blousy white shirt because I secretly wish I was Mr Darcy 🤷 Little plant spam from our visit to @thenewtinsomerset yesterday for James’s birthday! There were so many lovely spring blooms to enjoy. That sea of green in the second picture is entirely rosemary, isn’t it amazing? There’s something about red gingham that just makes me wanna frolic in a meadow without a care in the world 😁 Brassica napus 💛 we passed this wonderful field whilst on a drive in the countryside, and I had to get James to pull over so we could marvel at it. I absolutely love seeing the fields burst into vibrant yellow in spring, but this one seemed especially enchanting ☀️ I am now a committed member of team jumpsuits - how did it take me this long to try one, I am in love! Am I off to climb a tree? For a wander round the shops? Going for a drink? Digging a hole? Maybe all four but you’ll never know! 🤣 Had an absolutely magical afternoon at Iford Manor this weekend! Truly channeling the spirit of Mary Lennox, I was in a dreadful mood when we first arrived, but it melted away after a just a few minutes of exploring this incredible garden. Around every single corner there was a new thing to enjoy - slopes covered in wild garlic, Roman statues, beautiful plants, wonderful views of the Wiltshire countryside and charming little garden buildings and follies. It also has this wonderful calming atmosphere, just so positive, peaceful and still. The spring planting was absolutely brilliant but I can’t wait to come back soon to see what it’s like in the summer! Can’t beat a cute cottage 🤍 Hoya flowers!! 🪴 How perfectly beautiful are these little blooms, I’ve been staring at them all day 😍
